The European Trauma Course (ETC) is a 2.5-day, hands-on course 

18th, 19th & 20th November 2026

Course Description

 

·         Content

The course covers a range of scenarios, including abdominal trauma, head injury, and spinal injury. It focuses on teamwork, communication, and non-technical skills. 

·         Format

The course is predominantly practical, with workshops and skill stations. It includes: 

·         Two interactive lectures 

·         One faculty demonstration 

·         A personal mentor for each candidate 

·         Debriefings after each scenario 

·         A summative assessment on the final day 

·         Who can attend

The course is suitable for Doctors, Nurses, and Advanced Care Practitioners. Candidates should be at ST4 level or above, a senior nurse or AHP, and actively involved with trauma management. 

·         Certification

Once successfully completed, candidates are registered as an ETC Provider for 5 years. They can renew their certification by completing an online recertification course or attending another face-to-face course. 

·         Cost

£850 per candidate

2 weeks’ notice prior to the course start date            Full course fees are payable

Cancellation requests must be made in writing to medicineshortcourses@greatermanchester.ac.uk and must be received within the required notice period. If you do not attend a course, and have not previously informed us, the full course fee remains payable.
